The name ‘Bidaya’ is derived from the Arabic word for ‘beginning’ and is symbolic of the time of the bedouin. This was a time when the land provided all the shelter, nutrition and materials that the bedouin used to survive and thrive in an otherwise inhospitable environment.

Bidaya is the name of our restaurant/cafe and is inspired by the people of Arabia and the ways of the past. We are dedicated to bringing fresh, natural healthy and locally inspired meals to the community – making Bidaya the source of good food in your neighbourhood.
